Why?

Why Relationship Counselling

Life and relationships don’t come with an instruction manual, although there are plenty of self-help books out there.  So, which one to choose, or do we take advice from our family and friends?

We often learn from our parent’s relationship, we may decide to have a very different relationship to theirs or follow the same patterns of behaviour, as it was good enough for them.  However, what worked in one relationship may not necessarily work in another.

How often do we hear people say that ALL their partners have been the same, a specific type, why is that?  Is it that we are attracted to a certain type of personality or that our relationships follow the same path because of who we are?

Maybe the question should be - ‘Why not?’

If our car doesn’t start in the morning we book it into the garage, if our boiler breaks down we call a plumber, so what happens if our relationships aren’t working?

How often have I heard couples tell me that they have tried everything and have nothing left to give. With counselling, it becomes much easier for you and your partner to explore the changes that would help each other and also what you can live with as ‘quirkiness’.

Keep doing what you're doing and you'll keep getting what you're getting.
